glitches when transfering 1080 25p into FCP

Hi there,
I´m using a panasonic AG HMC 151 and am having problems when transfering footage shot in 1080 25p mode, into fcp. The footage plays fine on the camera and in the preview window of the log and transfer tool, but once it´s in fcp, it´s all jumpy and drops loads of frames. Transfering footage shot in 720 25p or 1080 50i, is absolutely fine. It´s just 1080 25p that seems to be the problem. I´m using a Mac book pro with Osx 10.4.11 and fcp 6.0.5 Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Pat

What sort of drive are you storing this footage on? Because when you import that footage you are transcoding it to ProRes, and that is a fairly high data rate codec. Not as high as uncompressed High Def, but it is as high as uncompressed Standard Def...so firewire 400 won't cut it. FW800 RAIDED drive like the G-Raid will.

Thanks Shane,
I´m transfering the footage with the SD card plugged directly into the mac book pro with a card reader and then the footage is going onto a Western Digital drive via firewire 800. Could it be that the mac book pro isn´t fast enough? What I don´t understand is that if FCP uses the apple pro res 422 codec to deal with AVCHD, why can it handle 720 25p and even 1080 50i and not 1080 25p, if it´s using the same codec?
Thanks,
Pat
