Can't change speed - filmed with a Canon mini DV

Strange thing...I received footage today filming to experiments and I was asked to speed up a section in between. I tried it using the timegraph tool in the timeline, the timegraph in the viewer and by changing the clip's speed by command + J ... all I get is a still frame. confused smiley

Does someone know what happened?

Yes, and that provides extremely useful information... What framerate, codec is it?

it's 25 fps, PAL, compressor: DV PAL, pixel aspect: PAL - CCIR 601.

Weird. I had that once when I had some 50fps DvcproHD footage in a 25fps timeline. Had to conform that to 25fps in Cinema Tools. Wasn't sure if 50fps DV footage exist, though...

Okay, I rarely use the timegraph function, as I find it fairly clunky to get it to do what I want, but what happens if you do a match frame (f), and insert that into a new timeline? Are you able to get motion changes on that?

If that doesn't work, try exporting one of the clips as a self contained QT movie (select recompress all frames), and drop that back in the timeline and see if you're able to do the speed change.

I just tried doing a match frame and inserting it in a new timeline and now it worked. thank you!!!
I then reimported it in my original timeline and now it's like I wanted it to be...but why did I have to do match frame?confused smiley

Match frame brings up a fresh clip from the browser.

I suspect you did something in the time remap function, probably drew a horizontal line in there, which is basically a still. If you hit the "x" button on the time remap tool, everything should reset.
