time change for already edited clips

Hi everybody,
my client insisted to add a new clip in an already edited project. Now the whole project, a 30 second commercial, is 3 seconds too long. I already speeded up the inserted clip, but it's not effective enough.
Now I would like to speed up all the other clips, but FCP doesn't allow me to do this.
Here is the error message:
"Speed cannot be changed for linked items with unequal start/end times."
It makes sense, but what do I do?

That's probably your audio. You don't want to speed up your audio, do you? Just unlink them from your video, then apply the speed change with Copy/Paste Attributes.

Seriously, though, I think you're trying to take a shortcut that's not going to yield the best results. It's really not that common for sped-up clips to cut exactly the same way as their normal counterparts. You're probably going to have to adjust the cuts for the new speed anyway. And it's just a 30-second commercial. So I'd go through one by one and do it the proper way.

I guess you are right.
I'll do it the proper way. Thanks for the input.
