aif trax vs. aiff trax?

A client sent me voice trax in the aif format via e-mail. They playback fine on my Mac, however, when placing them into a FCP timeline they are totally distorted. Of course all of my aiff trax playback fine.

Your input for a remedy would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps there's something glitchy in the file as it was sent over email. Try running the file through compressor with 48kHz uncompressed aiff setting. It shouldn't have any effect on the quality, but it might clean out what ever is causing the glitchy playback behavior.

Thanks for the tip Andy. I'll give it a try first thing in the A.M. The track is more than glitchy, it is completely distorted on the timeline but fine on the Mac.
