Capture Problem (File Error: Unknown File)

I have been unable to resolve this issue for the last week. Here it is:

I am unable to digitize video. I am editing FCS 2 on a Dual 2GHz G5 with 6.5 GB RAM. The deck I am using is a Sony GV-D1000 ("Clamshell". Tape-stock is MiniDV. I have deck control, I set my in and out points and hit Capture Clip. The deck cues the tape, pre-rolls and just as is about to start capturing, the window closes and gives me the message File Error: Unknown file. I have also tried Capture Now, but as soon as it starts, it quits.

I have tried digitizing multiple tapes, trashing my preferences, and also re-installing FCS, but nothing worked.

Here is the weird part- I just shot some new footage over the weekend with a different camera, and tried to digitize on my home computer (IMac G5) using my camera as a deck (Canon HV30) and I got the same problem! So I can't digitize anywhere! (Note: I am running the same FCS 2 at home as I am at work, I installed the software on both computers- Apple told me that was OK).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
