need to save project, but not all the extra footage

Hi guys:

I know there's a way to do this, and I know you can tell me.

I have a show I did, I want to keep the show on my computer, but not all the extra footage that I didn't use. So what do I do to save a project file which only contains the footage in the show (maybe plus some handles, if they do that, but whatever). Then once I have a new version of the edit which has only the footage involved, I want to blow away the rest of the footage and backup copies, just keep this one version for now.

Any suggestions on how this is done?

Media Manager. COPY, delete unused, with 5 sec or so handles. Look this up in the manual, it lays it out. The one found in the FCP Help menu is searchable.
