Missing Bars in Viewer

I am working in FCP 6.0.5
Mac OS X 10.5.6
2x2.8 GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon
6 GB Ram

When I select Bars and Tone from the drop down menu no bars appear, but there is tone.
Anyone else experience this issue?

Never mind.
Trashed the prefs and working now.

My guess is, all you did was switch off either your Viewer or Canvas (or both) to Wireframe, rather than Image or Image+Wireframe. The shortcut for that toggle is simply W, which is very easy to activate by mistake when opening and closing windows (APPLE-W). Check that first next time.
