I rendered an animation to jpegs (600 frames), so I need to import each jpeg into FCP timeline as 1 frame long. But FCP defaults to 5 seconds long each. How do I achieve this?

User Preferences - Editing - Still/Freeze Image Duration.

But, you never, ever want to import 600 single-frame stills back to back in an FCP timeline. It will freeze FCP up in ways you can't imagine. Make it into a QuickTime movie first.

Actually, I have a high-end Mac Pro and I just did import the 600 jpegs into the timeline and it worked great!

Thanks!

Stop. Go back. You are doing this wrong.

(Sorry, I felt like I should be direct.)

You need to convert your image sequence to a Quicktime movie, using Quicktime Pro. It doesn't matter how high-end your Mac is, that's how you have to deal with image sequences for workflow reasons.

It's okay... there are only 600 frames and I've already completed the sequence and it worked fine.

If I have longer sequences, i'll be sure to output in QT Pro first.

Thanks!
