I'm exporting a large file from FCP that will be copied onto Digi-beta tape for projection in a cinema. Am I right in thinking that I should set the export at Apple Rro-res 422 HQ? The film is originated on XDCAM HD.

you probably don't have to convert it to anything.
most i.o cards have hardware downscaling.

sounds like you might be outsourcing the playout to tape.
talk with whoever is doing the job.
