color correction with FC and External monitor

Hello again, I want to correct colors with FC and external broadcast monitor. It is better to use an analog monitor or a Digital monitor. Apple sells a Mini DVI to Video adaptor with composite (RCA) and SVideo outputs, would this be enought to work with an analog monitor? or I need a canopus card to use conponent video, is this an important issue for the image in the monitor?. Is a documentary with diffrent interviews in different places, is minor things like a some contrast here and there and some color correction in specific shots.

Thanks very much for your help

I won't advice color correcting off a Composite signal. Not sure about S-Video, but that is higher quality than Composite. Component or SDI is preferred.

The Mini DVI sounds like a bad deal. I believe it outputs an RGB signal which then gets converted into a YUV signal. You need a IO card to send out a video signal. You can check out Blackmagic Design for their range of decklink cards.
