FCP 6.06 CRASHING
November 26, 2009 03:37PM
I am editing on a MAC laptop OSX.5.5
I am using 2 external G-drives 1000 GB
One drive is full (50 gb spare), the other has 800 GB available
I am using FCP 6.06

The PROBLEM is that FCP keeps freezing with the rotating ball,
Then it is impossible to Force Quit out of FCP
and of course cannot eject the drives.
I am so worried about ruining the drives because of this.
PLEASE ADVISE.

I through out the preferences of FCP, used Disk Utility.

PLEASE HELP. I AM OUT OF THE USA TRAVELING, FILMING AND EDITING.

ON DEADLINE OF COURSE.

Go to the Finder, then hit apple option Esc. Then force quit FCP.

We need a lot more details to troubleshoot. What kind of footage are you working on, and what kind of drives, what kind of laptop, etc...

50 gigs out of a 1 TB drive sounds WAY low. Also, is that drive set as the scratch disk?

Agree. Try to free up space on the 50gb one asap. If the rule is 15% free, you need to have about 150GB free on that one.

Also, was this ever working fine? Has it just started recently, and if so, what changed?
