what is the best way to make my mp4 show on a pc

i have tried a few things and i have yet to figure out how to produce a video that can be sent thru email amd viewed. any ideas

i have fcp studio w/ compressor.

Change it to a Sorenson. I have never had an issue of any PC or Mac that could not view my email proofs.

A PC that didn't have QuickTime loaded?

Windows Media *.wmv files will play on most Windows machines right out of the box. Flash will play on all the machines that downloaded the Flash Player, and, of course, almost any QuickTime will play on PCs with QuickTime Player loaded.

PCs are hard because video is a tacked-on option and sometimes not tacked on very hard.

Now koz...you KNOW that QT has to be loaded... just like FLASH Player & WM Player has to be loaded... so why ask? Sorenson is just a better / cleaner / less troublesome / easily downloadable file...and you can frame-step through the clips (which you can't do in a WMF or FLV file without a QT converter).

I don't agree there. Starting with Windows 2000, a version of Windows Media loads with the Operating System unless you try hard to prevent it.

I did a non-network clean install of Win2K a couple of weeks ago and I got an early Windows Media Player.

The *upgrades* are optional--and usually a bad idea.

I'm going for my California "Ex" license in two weeks. It authorizes me to be completely unreasonable and insane with a Rolodex full of lawyers to back me up.

If the Rolodex is big enough, it has to be licensed as a Lethal Weapon in the State of California, so you do have to be careful.

It's universal for all machines (with QT installed). Sorenson 3 = relatively same as Sorenson.
