Can't see outgoing frames when timeline trimming?

V to select nearest cut. U to cycle trim side to incoming frames. Left bracket to trim incoming frames. I can trim them AND I can see them.

V to select nearest cut. U to cycle trim side to outgoing frames. Right bracket to trim outgoing frames. I can trim them but I can't see them.

Does this only work in big trim mode?

Am I asking one of those 'stupid' questions?

You can't see it because the canvas shows the incoming frame not the outgoing frame. Use the trim edit window.
