Hello!

I have an audio sync question.
We're shooting in 30p using the Canon 7D.
The audio, we're shooting using external devices.
The editor/directors want to eventually convert down to 24p.
so, what does the audio have to be recorded as in order to sync properly?

yes, it's vague. if I described it all wrong please let me know and I will try to explain to more clear.

Thanks!

30p? As in full integer frame rate (flat 30 frames per second) or 29.97 fps?

If it's 30, then you need to slow down the audio slightly to get it to sync at broadcast frame rates.

You really don't want to go at 24p if you're shooting at 30. It's not a pulldown removal, but standards conversion. You should shoot at 24p instead.

Yeah the 7D shoots 24p so- why aren't you just shooting 24p instead of yourself in the foot? smileys with beer
