final cut pro 5 won't open anymore

A sudden power failure occured in my flat, and my hard drive was connected to a power outlet while I was working on a project. I decided to quit the programm and to open it again but it sais something like no link image disk found or and won't open anymore. I tried to erase the program from the applications file then to re-install it. same issue... anything I can do? I'm supposed to finnish a project by tonight, so it couldn't have come up at a worse time...

Try DiskWarrior first. May be that a part of the hard drive was damaged. The directory file is very vulnerable to damage from sudden disconnection, and that's what DiskWarrior fixes.

Can other projects launch in FCP? You may have encountered a corrupted project file. In that case, you go back to the autosave vault and launch the last saved version.
