FCP6 WON'T CONNECT TO MY SONY HDR-HC1HELP

I was wondering if anybody has any advice for me. I can't seem to get
FCP to recognize my HDV device for capture. I'm capturing HDV from the
Sony HDR-HC1 Camcorder.

No matter which preset I try, and I've tried all pertinent settings,
I can't get it to acknowledge my camera for HDV capture. Would you
know where to obtain a capture preset specification for my camera?

The footage recorded for capture is HDV. All my settings
in the camera are set to HDV output. The only way this seems to capture is
by using the apple intermediate codec. But in that setting I can't control
what I want to capture. It doesn't let me log or set my I and O points.

I tried trashing FCP preferences, then resetting all my capture settings, but nothing changed.

Can someone help...anybody?

You should be able to capture HDV live using the HDV FireWire Device Control Preset in the Audio/Video Settings dialog. I believe those were available in FCP6.x. Also, your camera need to be in Playback mode? As if you were viewing recorded work on the camera.
