Pic in pic not transparent?

I have a pic in pic, the video on track 2 (which is over video on track one) is smaller.
When I apply basic 3D and want to use the key frame to have it spin in on it's y axis.
The track 2 when its at 90 degrees I would like to see track one (then track 2 spins in)
but I see a black square where track 2 sits. It should be transparent? What to do

Thanks in advance
Mitch

Don't apply basic 3D. Just do the spin in the MOTION tab. Double click on the clip to load it into the Viewer, then make changes in the MOTION tab.

In my version of FCP which is 5.1.4
I don't see that option in the motion tab, I have rotate , but I need the PIP to rotate on its axis. It's Y axis?
Thx

Use the 'distort' section of the motion tab. Just change the first value in each box to the opposite negative or positive value.

So, if it's -360 and -288, change to 360 and -288. If it's 360 and 288, change to -360 and 288. The second value doesn't need to change. Keyframe the change over the period you need it to happen.
