Unlimited Playback Not Working For Red Footage

I'm editing a music video using Red Code medium proxies in FCP 7.01. I'm working on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.5.8. Usually when I edit Red Projects, I can select "unlimited RT" from the RT pop-up menu and won't have to render anything for playback. For some reason on this project, I don't get the "unlimited" or "safe" options from the RT pop-up menu. It simply says "play base layer only" and has record to tape options. I tried selecting "unlimited" from the playback options tab in my system settings, but it's still making me render everything. All the footage for this project is slow motion (shot at 36fps on the camera). Could this be the problem? Is there any way around having to render everything?

Oh yeah, I'm using Apple Pro Res. I tried Apple Pro Res 4444, 422(HQ) and 422(Proxy). I did select "yes" for matching clip settings to sequence settings.

there you go. If it's going at 36fps, you won't get RT playback. Conform it to 23.976 and start cutting.

It was shot at 36fps, but it's slow motion, so when I open the proxies in quicktime or look at them in the bin, it says it's 23.98fps. I don't want to convert anything because I want to online through color, and ensure that I preserve the color space.
Is there another way around this?

Weird. Can select a clip in your timeline, hit apple 9 for item properties and take a screen shot of it?

Took a screen shot. How do I insert it into this thread?

upload it to something like photobucket, which is free, and paste the link.

Yea, it's R3D. You can try creating a 2K frame size in FCP. (2048x1024, ProRes, 23.98/24p). But someone else would probably post more, as i don't know enough about the pros and cons of each workflow. My preference is to transcode everything into ProRes and then relink it back to the R3D mags for grading.

Thanks, but I'm not sure what you mean by "creating a 2K frame size in FCP". Should I alter my sequence settings?

Yes. create a new sequence, you can use the ProRes 1080p24 setting, then change the frame size to "custom", type in 2048x1024 (if you shot 2:1). Then pop in a clip, do not conform sequence to clip, or it will defeat the purpose of creating a new sequence size. You should have unlimited RT.
