PAL to DVD

Hi! A client wants me to convert is pal videotapes to
DVD. I have a FireWire deck to import mindv and VHS tapes
into my computer. Will pal play in a VHS deck if put on right setting
or is it a totally different shape and size?

The player needs to be able to take PAL. Some players can take both, some are NTSC only, and some are PAL only.

I am not sure how to find out. Are the tapes the same size? I have a JVC deck with mini DV and VHS SR-VS20

The tapes are the same size but PAL is 25fs at 720 x 576. So your player will only recognise it and be able to play it back if it is PAL compatible.

I can't find anything that says that your machine can handle PAL. Do you have a manual that might say for sure?
