Timecode does not match the timecode on the original Digibeta tapes.

I am attempting to capture DigiBetacam PAL images (without sound, original archive film material shot silent) onto FCP 6.0.2.

I have a Digi reader and a SDI-DV breakaway box and a Lacie HD.

Using a firewire 800 cable.

Downloading to a DV format on the harddisk and will conform in the final online later. Material will be used for an offline.

Video is coming through fine. Problem is the timecode coming through does not match the timecode on the original Digibeta tapes.

Tired everything, any ideas to get the original timecode from the tapes onto the captured video ? FCP is using some counter that has nothing to do with the timecode on the tapes.

Turn on the TC burn from Digi, and modify each clip's timecode manually?

What capture settings are you using? Are you controlling the deck remotely?

What models do you have. Final cut needs a way to see the timecode on tape. Usually it gets there by traveling with the 9pin control signals (RS422) to the DV convertor, which puts it in the firewire stream.

Is that how your system is wired?

What VPiccin said; you'll need an RS422 cable, but I've never seen one go to FireWire-- usually goes to a Serial-to-USB adapter. Keyspan and others made them. But that's where the tape timecode comes from in my experience. It also allows you to control the Digi deck from FCP Log and Capture.
