Smart Reporter HDD monitor

I was look for something to scan or monitor my hdd to some what predict the degradation of the HDD. I am thinking of SmartReporter.

I have had 2 Failures in the last year. And i Think i am noticing some ever so gentle signs of another.

Has any one used a software HDD diagnostic of this type?

No need to buy anything - Disk Utility can display the SMART status of the drive. But in my experience, SMART can be hit and miss.

The problems you are experiencing may not necessarily be a physical issue with the drive; they could be an issue with the file system on the drive. It's worth giving DiskWarrior a try to see what it comes up with:
