Strange Match Frame Bug

I'm having a horrible problem with the match frame function in Final Cut Pro.

When I go to match frame a clip ( "F" ) it takes me to the end of the source clip and places the in/out markers both on the very last frame.
It doesn't happen on all my clips, but I'm starting to see a pattern; it's with footage shot at 720p 30 (DVCProHD with a 2:2 pulldown) that was captured at 60fps by our post house. I'm editing in 30p so it makes me think that there's a disconnect - like if the match-frame function is counting the number of frames from the start of the source clip, then it makes sense that it's not lining up... but this is actually a pretty common workflow- one we've done many times before and haven't had this kind of problem before.

By calling up the match master frame (Command+Option+F) it brings me to the correct clip and frame, but of course- I don't have the in/out markers.
