catastrophic tape failure

ok, so i justgot a mini dv tape of a plate test and some practice shots that i need to capture and cut up

unfortunatly no matter how i try to capture it (unfortunatly using a camera not a vtr) whether it be with advance 2:3:3:2 pulldown or just straight 29.97, i have time code brake after time code brake after time code brake, now as you all may know telecine is just straight rolled onto tape.

so my problem is i can't capture this tape. any advice



Amateur Teacher

Depending on your desparation level, select Non-Controlled Device in your capture settings, roll the tape by hand and Capture Now.

This will not give you time indications, but it *will* capture the show.

growl, i was fearing a this, damn final cut, doesn't it have a "miracle" setting?

Are you sure they didn't record at LP mode or something dumb like that?

If all else fails, redub the tape.

no no, it was indeed the camera, brought it to my schools digital labs and ra it through a vtr, worked perfectly, i can't the same for the camera work, but im once again fcp has no miracle button

i've got a secondary question, i've reversed telecined the footage and now i have to put it back to tape easy way to do this?
