Unable to initialize deck

running OSX Version 10.6.4 on a Mac Pro w/3 GB

Up untill last Friday, digitizing from our Sony GV-D1000s was no problem.

Now the Mac won't initialize it.

Tried swapping out decks and firewires in different variations, still no luck.

Suggestions?

What has changed since last Friday? Installed anything? Had any major work done on the building? New editor? Wearing different socks? Anything?
