Problems with a quicktime movie file to create DVD

Hello to everyone

I exported a quicktime file in 16:9 and made a DVD using IDVD with 16:9 settings. When I play this back in the computer I get a 4:3 lecture with black spaces right and left, I f I play back in a DVD player and a TV I get the 16:9 picture, is this normal? it never happened to me before

The second problem is that I get a noticeable flickering in the image when I playback the DVD copy in the DVD player and TV, but the original quicktime movie out of Final Cut does not have any flickering, is just normal. Can I correct this in IDVD somehow?
