multiclip - more than 4 angles

Hey guys, whenever I try to create a multiclip (MODIFY > MAKE MULTICLIP) with more than 4 angles my FCP setup freaks out.

I am trying to sync 8 angles plus an audio track, but anytime I do more than 4, it will not play. Also how do I view more than 4 angles in the VIEWER window at a time? My setup only allows 4-up or 1-up.... (or as far as I can see)

Not true. I have gone as far as 9 angles on music video segment. Here is a short read up on setting up a multcam edit.

The thing about having many angles is that you need the drive throughput and system resources to play back that many angles. I happened to have 2 raid arrays when I was working with 9 angles, so I put that to good use.

It's still doing it.... I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The timecode is accurate...I can do 4 angles, but once I add even one more - 5 - it does not want to play it...

what sort of media are you trying to play back?
what sort of drives are you using?
are all the angles the same format?
