Pro Res HQ files on a MacBook Pro?

Hi,

I am starting a feature that has been shot on the RED Camera. They are giving me Pro Res 422 HQ files. My question is, will my 2010 MacBook Pro be powerful enough to handle these files throughout the duration of cutting this feature?

These are the specs of my MacBook Pro:

Model Identifier: MacBookPro6,1
Processor Name: Intel Core i7
Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 4 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 4.8 GT/s

Please let me know you think. Thank you.

Best,
Neguine

If you're just cutting with ProRes files. you'll eat it up easily. Are you planning to online in a higher res on that rig later, or go out of house for the grade/fx/etc?

it'll work fine. Just need a FW800 drive, or eSATA would be better if your laptop has the Express34 slot, and you get an adapter.

Thanks, good to hear. It was just confirmed that they are delivering ProRes LT files which they will be going back to the original RED Raw files.
