A box for didging VHS?

Folks-

Sometime down the line we all have to deal with it.

Everything I see in the computer stores is USB in. I tested one and it was crappy, choppy playback, etc. I need a FireWire media convertor like Sony's classic 400.00 converter box with composite, L-R audio and S-Video in, FW out.

Or would I be better off forgetting FW entirely and buying an A-D PCIe card I can hook up to a VHS? What's recommended?

Today's FCP 7 keytip:
Temporarily mix down audio tracks with Command-Option - R !

B&H has it for $165 and 51 reviews with 4.6 stars.

If you want a PCIe card. Blackmagic Intensity Pro

HDMI, Component, S-Video (I don't think composite though, click on specifications)
B&H hast it for $189. They say composite too. 131 reviews and 4.3 stars.

Do you have a deck or camera for ingest, Loren? Just run the VHS through that via E to E and capture in 'non controllable device' mode.
