Stretched Video

Hi All--

I need your help.

I am working on a feature in FCP 7.0. My machine and iMAC.

Everything is going well, but I have had a recent crash and lost some work.

I have rebuilt the audio side of the picture, but now have a video (picture) side problem.

I am using a still of a character (made form a "Make Freeze Frame" clip). The still has a border added and is slightly animated to spin as it grows in scale.

When I laid this still in and animated it, it worked perfect. After the crash however, the still is still animated but the still is "stretched from side to side". But not top and bottom, so not proportionally.

The video was captured on Canon 60D and imported into FCP as a .mov file.

I also have a very highly animated sequence that has layers of composited video. Like the still, before the crash, it looked fine. But now, the video clips (which have been resized from 30% - 50% of their original size)
are now stretched from side to side, just like the still.

The rest of the film (video) that has not been resized - is fine.

May I ask--

Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Could I change a setting and get it back?

Anything but having to do all this animation over from scratch. By deadline in looming and I just don't have the time.

Please offer help, if you can.

Did you convert everything to prores or something before import, or are you working with H.264 files?
