Hey,
im unable to capture more than 1 or 3 minutes in XDCAM HD422 50mb in real time in AJA VTR or FCP ( 10min tape )

i got a dropped frame everytime, im the only one having that prob ?

i cant figure out why im unable to capture, i made the full 10 min clip in ProRes without any issue but in XDCAM HD422 it dropped everytime

XDCAM HD422 is pretty processor intensive to do an on-the-fly capture. Remember, the card does not do the codec compression (only some AJA cards do hardware ProRes captures). In most cases, Quicktime does the compression, so your processor may tank before you capture, and you may need loads of RAM. Not for the faint hearted. I haven't captured XDCAM HD422, but I have transcoded to XDCAM HD422, and I can tell you it's not real time. The machine really slows down.

Capture as ProRes HQ or even better, Uncompressed 10 bit 4:2:2, then transcode it to xdcam HD422.

It's what i have done, but it's twice the time to deliver !!

im tryin to record on XDCAM HD deck then rip with XDCAM Transfert, hoping to have a better time for final result.

I don't get what you are doing. Are you exporting to the deck then capturing it? You can always transcode to XDCAM hd 422 with compressor or final cut. If you need an mxf, you can send it to XDCAM transfer to rewrap to mxf.
