I keep getting this message when I'm rendering a file in FCP Academic ver.6.06
> "Codec not found. You may be using a compression type without the corresponding hardware card."
> The machine is a Mac Pro with OSX 10.5.8
> I digitized the footage from a Sony HVR1500 deck. Format: AjAKona LH: 1080i 29.97 ProRes422.

> I've already deleted the .plist file and the .cache file. Still the same problem.

Thanks

If you press Cmd+0 to view Sequence Settings, what codec is listed for the sequence?

My software:
Pro Maintenance Tools - Tools to keep Final Cut Studio, Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer and Adobe Premiere Pro running smoothly and fix problems when they arise
Pro Media Tools - Edit QuickTime chapters and metadata, detect gamma shifts, edit markers, watch renders and more
More tools...

Hi John
When I hit Cmd+0, the sequence settings window pops up and under "Quicktime Video settings-> Compressor is Apple ProRes 442 HQ

Is this what you're referring too?

Check the AJA website for updated AJA Codec info, download & install it.

As it turns out. I had a corrupt jpeg image that I was using as a whiteflash better scenes.
I changed this file to a .png and it renders perfect.

Thanks for all of your help guys.

I always get the weird problems.
