Quicktime File strobes in FCP

Hello to all,

I received a Quicktime file of a short film. When viewing in Quicktime the movie plays fine. When I import in Final Cut Pro the film strobes in certain points. The strobing is not constant. I tried exporting a few seconds of the film where it's strobing in order to provide an example, but when I exported the file from Final Cut Pro and played back in Quicktime the strobing is not there.

The settings of the Quicktime file are:

Format: DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720 ? 480 (640 ? 480), Millions
16-bit Integer (Big Endian), Stereo, 48.000 kHz

FPS: 29.97

Data Size: 3.64 GB

Normal Size: 720 x 480 pixels
Any thoughts?

As, always, thanks so much!

Lisha

Just want to add...

The strobing is happening in the same places. The film plays fine in Quicktime, but strobes/stutters when playing back in FCP.

First guess... Your sequence settings is incorrect. What is your sequence settings set to? What frame rate and codec?
