fcp media manage nightmare

I have captured one clip "clip_unerwater"which is hr long and taken few mins from that clip now when I media manage the entire project its taking the entire "clip unerwater" why cant it take few min what is been used in time line rather that taking the entire clip of hr a long am i missing somethin

Make sure "Delete unused media" is checked and "Include master clips outside selection" is unchecked. Also, if your clip is an hour long, I'm betting you had used Capture Now. That means you probably didn't assign a Reel Name to the clip, which can prevent trimming. Add it and try again.
