Ways to ged rid of hair on footage?

Hi,

I have some footage with a hair present in the middle of the frame, what are some options to get rid of it?

I tried a free plug in (name escapes me at the moment) that is supposed to help by sampleing the pixels in the next or previous frame, however, the result wasn't satisfactory.

I'm guessing this is a frame by frame job in AE.

I've found plugins to be useful when a scratch or hair spans only a single frame. If it spans multiple frames and covers important action I've never had any luck with them. In those situations I've had to have a reshoot or do painstaking paint and roto work.
