Conform TL to clip

For some reasons when I drop a clip in the TL for the first time, I don't get the message I used to get asking to conform or not the sequence to the clip settings.
I checked that my settings were ok so I checked in User Pref / editing / Auto conform sequence "ask"

Any advice?

I don't.
I imported my clips.
Created a new Sequence and dropped a clip in.
BUt the TL just "accepts" the clip w/o asking if it should conform the sequence to the clip settings...

Tried dumping preferences?
Setting that Auto-Conform preference to something else and then going back?
Starting a new Sequence with drastically different settings and dropping the clip in?
Starting another project file?

In the setting you have to change it to ask first. I don't have FC open but I know it is there.

Actually i made it work by re-exporting my footage using MPEG Streamclip where as before I used QT Pro. And it worked....
It might have been the conversion that messed it up. I went from mpg4 file to Prores LT the first time with QT, and did the same the second with MPEG Str....
