I just bought a used Macbook Pro, 2.4 ghz Core 2 Duo, 4mb RAM, OSX 10.7.2. Which versions of Final Cut are compatible?

I would think any that are MacOSX compatible would be fine. So, anything that doesn't require MacOS9. Any of the FCP Studios should be OK.

Also, you mean 4GB of ram, right? winking smiley

Yup, sorry - 4gb. Just checked Apple's site and they say only FCP 7 and FCPX are compatible with Lion. Marketing on Apple's part or reality?

Oh that's right, the installer jams under Lion. There is a solution for running 6.0 on Lion, though, if you really need to. Read this

Actually, it's largely FCP 6 and 7. FCP 5 was largely coded for the PPC. 5.1 was UB. FCP 6 was UB. FCP was largely Intel only except for the installer which was PPC.
