Using FCP 7 on OSX 10.7.5
Overview: 1080p video from Canon Rebel processed through MpegStreamclip (interlace box deselected) at ProRess 422. When dropped into FCP item properties reads video field dominance as Upper Odd.
Tests: Dropped same video directly into Compressor which reads media as Progressive, field dominance none. Reinstalled FCP 7 & MpegStreamclip repeating process with same results. Treated sample clip three ways in Mpeg Streamclip: (1 uncheck interlaced box (2. only checking deinterlace box (3 checking interlaced and deinterlace box.
All three video clips read as Interlaced (UPPER ODD) when separately loaded in old and new FCP project.
For unknown reasons my copy of FCP 7 is reading progressive footage from Canon's Rebel treated with MpegStreamclip as interlaced video causing issues in DVD burn quality.
Please advise as all common steps have been taken to amend the issue.
