Still Image from every shot for grading reference

the dop is going to be out of town when we grade, and would like reference images

is there an app that can help generate a still image from even shot in an edited timeline?
first frame of every shot would be fine.
maintaining timeline order is important

i have a way of doing it in FCP, but seem to recall there might be a better solution out there

similar to what i advised (i'm asking for a friend)

my method works well with a collapsed edit: all clips on V1 if possible

so:
copy sequence
collapse clips
export reference
re-import, lay on top of collapsed edit.

step though each edit, adding markers to the export
copy export to new bin,
toggle markers, make subclips,
batch export as stills
tidy up file names

the markers are numbered 1 to whatever,
so retain their timeline order
