Automating clip replace in FCP7

Hi. Fcp7 question...posted this on a facebook FCP group as well...
a client began his own fcp7 timeline so that he could give me a rough cut of his show as a starting point, and he will be handing me his project. He has properly recorded audio, but he didn't sync sound...he only used the on-camera mic while prepping his rough cut. So the problem is that after I sync his proper audio, I'll still need to work with his cuts that were made using reference audio.

If I was to sync all his raw footage using Merge Clips in FCP, can anybody suggest a way that I can automate the overcut of his timeline? I know that Matchframe will always bring me back to the unmerged clip, and I would love to avoid hours of copying and pasting timecodes. Any helpful thoughts are appreciated. I don't get his footage for a few days, so I thought I'd get a running start on this first problem! Thanks!

But will a reverse match frame work from one to the other?
If so you can automate an over cut.

You could also do this using time code, but only if you had no duplicate code

Videotoolshed make software (FCP Reconnect) that can reconnect based on reel and tc.
Do you clips have reel #s?
