Deleting extra audio tracks

Hi

When we digitized at HD 1080i then converted to 720p. Anyways when we digitized we got 16 tracks of audio. Is there a way to delete the extra tracks on the master clip either on FCP or in Quick time with out having to re-render all the clips.

Thanks,
Em

Do you need to delete them? Why not just not insert them on the timeline? As long as you only have two (or one or whatever you like) target tracks for audio on the timeline, that's all that will be inserted.

Sure, first unselect Linking and then click select a clip and Delete it.

Sounds like you got 8 original audio tracks from the HD cam and when downconverting it to 720, you got those same 8 again. How many audio tracks are really active? Was this captured over SDI to get 8 tracks?

If you have doubled the audio tracks, you can surely delete or not even import them onto the timeline when editing.
