I am using FCP 5.1, I have a new Kona 2 card which is taking some getting used to..does anybody know how to connect a broadcast monitor to it without having to use a digi beta deck..the breakout cables have only SDI in/out, ref in and a whole load of audio cables. Thank you...Phil in the UK

Should come with a 9 pin D connector with BNC's at the other end.

Here is a link with diagram.

I don't even use the set of Monitor cables... I run the SDI In/Out cables through the Sony Pro monitor to/from a router because my monitor has an SDI board in it.

The first of the three component analog video outputs can be switched to CVBS which is Composite Video Baseband Signal--standard NTSC in our case. Straight to a video monitor.
