Outputting a multi track (4 track) quicktime with 4 discrete channels

Apologies if this has been asked before, I have searched the archives and read the FAQ, but can see no sign of it.

Is it possible to create a 4 (or more) track quicktime movie from within FCP? (e.g. Stereo Mix on 1/2 and Stereo M&E on 3/4)

If so, how? If not does anyone have a workaround for creating such a thing?

Many Thanks

Trevor

An interesting idea. I presume you are refering to 4 track audio, not video?

I would think you would need to get into a 5.1 area here - which I have done within ProTools but not within FCP. I'm not sure its possible to export a movie from FCP with more than 2 audio tracks, but I would happily be proved wrong?

just create your timeline with audio outputs set up and mapped the way you want them, then export > quicktime movie w/ current settings & self-contained.

thats it. check the movie properties in qt player and you'll see the clip has all the audio info as exported. (the qt player itself is a 2 channle player so it will mix it all down to 2 tracks, but the audio is there nontheless)
