New User Needs Help

I borrowed a Final Cut system from a friend and I am trying to teach
myself the system.

I have a few questions if you don't mind.

On the finder level, can you see, or isolate the individual bins the
are contained within your project? Can you import bins or clips from
another Final Cut project into your new project?

I was given three separate Final Cut projects (from a friend) that
come from 3 different video formats. I want to edit the material into
my project. I tried to open the other projects but I got a "general
error 41". I tried to import the media from the other 3 projects into
mine, but they won't play together in a sequence.
Any ideas?
