ot: 10.4.9 combo?

Hi,

Are we still recommending to use the combo updater to apply OSX upgrades? Specifically I'm looking to apply 10.4.9, unless anyone tells me they're having probs.

Yes. There is no real definitive reason for this but it seems there is something different between the software update and combo update. The combo update just does not cause the same problems as a software update control panel. Also repair permissions before and after.

FCP 5.1.4
QT 7.1.5

I upgrade as infrequently as possible. I have FCP already up to 5.1.4. I've downloaded the combo 10.4.9. I am hearing terrible things about the QT 7.1.5 update.
