"chalkboard" effect

Is there a simple way to do the "drawing on a chalkboard" effect? They use this a lot in sports -- to circle players or draw arrows to show where a play is going to go, etc.

I have the suite and Photoshop, and have access to Shake, if any of those programs are helpful.

Thanks,

Mike

First, you should know that nothing is "simple". Nothing!

Second, what you're talking about is called "Telestrator". Here's their URL:

Good luck.

You can do it in Photoshop or After effects - draw the final finished product in high contrast or with alpha channel in Photoshop -- then animate on with Mattes right in FCP or - and I'm not as familiar with it - in Shake or After Effects or Motion.. Andy

Definately without a doubt After Effects is the simplest and
best for this effect.

Cant think of a quick way to do it in shake tho.

Thanks, all. I'll go check out Telestrator. Sadly, I don't have After Effects, and was hoping to avoid the "mask method," which was all I've been able to think of up to this point.
