OT : interesting technology, FCP 7 or 8?Posted by Andrew Kines
I've been following the RED for a while on HDforIndies. I even had a deposit and form filled out ready to go before I realized that I have no business buying a camera that I wouldn't know how to operate.
Did you watch that youtube? Interesting stuff. Especially the resolution bump from a still. Can't wait to see what happens when someone intentionally misuses the software with mismatched photos and footage or footage with moving objects in it. ak Sleeplings, AWAKE!
Now THAT's what I call a Century 21 demo! What fun. The video is treated as a matrix simply for motion, relfections, and as a moving backgorund to hang match-frame HDR stills upon! It's wild.
Geez, waiting 2100 years to remove No Parking signs.... a budget-busting wait, but it's over. Tis will be a shrinkwrap package soon enough. Maybe they'll sell it to Graeme. - Loren Today's FCP 4 / 5 keytip: Fast scan your clips or timeline with Control-F12 ! Go slower with lower F keys. Go reverse with F6 down to F2 The FCP KeyGuide?: your power placemat. Now available at KeyGuide Central. www.neotrondesign.com
That's almost too good to be true. Like a week from now they will show how they faked the youtube video by using a VHS camera and a HD camera linked together on-site or something.
Love the replace and remove functionality! Of course, you can't use it with anything moving in the scene yet. Well, OK, we can't use it at all yet, but still. Wow.
I'll bet it was done with an HD camera, and DOWNCONVERTED to DV and color corrected to be REALLY washed out.

Looking forward to seeing what develops out of it. Hopefully without the Boujou pricetag. I've never been fond of leasing software. :-/ Marco Solorio | OneRiver Media | ORM Blog | Twitter | Facebook | Media Batch
