Data Base Question

Hello,

using FCP 5.1.4 Mac g5 Quad.
Can FCP generate a data base of all media in a projects capture scratch folder(s) that IS NOT in the
projects file hierarchy?

dont quite understand what you mean.

compare media in the capture scratch folder against clips in the project?

what do you want to achieve?

It can?t. In order to create a full list of all the files inside your scratch folder you need to use applescript. It shouldn?t be too hard to find a working script from the web.
