Being forced to upgrade mid job OS 10.3.7 to 10.3.9Posted by MJG
Hi All,
I'm on the home stretch of finishing a feature length doc. I just purchased Automatic Duck's Export software to use in my OMF transfer to our sound house. After experiencing trouble installing the Duck software, I received word from Duck techsupport that the problem may be that I am not running OS 10.3.9 and up. If this is the case, and the Duck can't quack with 10.3.7, can anyone tell me from experience what I risk upgrading to 10.3.9 before the job is finished. Thanks, MJG
10.3.9 installer can be found here

Disconnect all external drives and peripherals until the upgrade is complete! Then reboot and connect and let them all say hello to the new OS. Shouldn't be even a burp.

You didn't say which version of FCP you're using, but if it's ver 3 (which plays very nicely with OS 10.3.x and QT 6.x) don't make the mistake of also upgrading QT to 7, which is probably being offered on your Software Update. Not only does it lose the Pro key, QT 7 and FCP 3 are a bad combination.
I upgraded my PB from 10.3.4 to 10.3.9, using FCP 3, and it was problem-free. Scott
