Kona 2 or 3 card and FCP 6.0.1 Testing a theory

IF anyone out there has a Kona 2 or 3 and is running FCP 6 and also happens to have a firewire deck set up, I am wondering if you can help me test a theory (short of tearing my machine apart to test it). Can you perform and "edit to tape" and in the process, check the audio track pulldown menu in the "edit to tape" tool. Are your tracks greyed out? Are you able to send audio to your FW deck?
