It seems that the mic's plug on the camera was not good. How do I fix the sound so that the output would good (avoiding copying the channel thats good (A1) onto the channel that's bad (A2). Is there an option? Should be. Thx so much!

You can use the pan tools to push one channel into two. Then use the level controls to correct any errors.
What's wrong with the bad channel? A bad connection can give many different problems.
